PACE in Maryland

Background

Maryland passed PACE-enabling legislation in 2009 and the first commercial PACE program, MD-PACE, began operating in 2015. Montgomery County PACE operates as a separate program within the county.

MD-PACE Maryland

MD-PACE is a statewide partnership between PACE Financial Servicing and the Maryland Clean Energy Center to provide a Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program. Maryland passed PACE-enabling legislation in 2014.  MD-PACE works with counties and municipalities to pass local ordinances to take advantage of PACE.  Through the program, PACE Financial Servicing will provide turnkey, standardized administration of PACE throughout the state, and servicing of PACE financing. The Maryland General Assembly passed a law allowing local jurisdictions to implement PACE programs, and Montgomery County worked with a consultant throughout 2014 to design a program. On March 31, 2015, Council Bill 6-15, Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy Program (PACE), was adopted. Montgomery County has selected PACE Financing Servicing, LLC as the Program Manager and Greenworks Lending, LLC as the County Designated Lender. Read the press release here.
